Dear Death

A young girl named Carrot wonders if there's anyone in the whole wide world who feels as lonely as she does. Most days, she can't talk to anyone about it or ask them any questions. On those days, she wishes she could go to Death's place... and live there. For a child, moving to another place can be a daunting undertaking. Carrot can't make up her mind right away. So, whenever she wants to make sense of her complicated feelings, she pens a letter to Death.

Dear Death compiles all of the letters Carrot sends to Death, hoping her questions can be answered when no one would give her answers. Carrot's questions are endless: What is real? What is love? Will Death... die? In gentle, thoughtful lyric, this book invites young readers to explore difficult subjects, such as loss and belonging; subjects that they might wonder about, but might not know where to start.
